Episode #109: Spina Bifida Texas

In this episode of Open Book we hear from Rosanne Gonzales, Executive Director at Spina Bifida Texas (SBTX). SBTX is a small nonprofit providing programs and services for individuals and families affected by Spina Bifida in Central and South Texas. These programs include New Parent Support, a Resource Library, Self Advocacy Support, Scholarship Opportunities, Folic Acid Awareness, and Disability Awareness Education. Events include FashionABLE, a one-of-a-kind program that partners children with disabilities and high school design students. Together they create a modified garment that helps the child self-dress or overcome obstacles when a caregiver dresses them.
